TechCrunch has posted an article on the use of the Android Auto app to make brake fluid leaks more obvious.

The app allows users to view the map of their car’s parking brake fluid levels and make changes to the settings to make them disappear.

“It’s not a simple app, but it’s a great way to keep track of your fluid levels,” said Jason Oster, an engineer at Ford’s Advanced Technology Center in Palo Alto, California.

Oster said the app’s creators also use it to help track down brake fluid leakage.

While the app uses an online map to show the car’s fluid levels, it also uses a radar to identify potential leaks and sends alerts to drivers via email.

Ford is currently working on a new app, called Ford Drive, that will allow drivers to remotely control their vehicles using voice commands, and will be available in 2021.
